Reclipped lets you clip pictures from any site, arrange them on boards and share them. This page says what we store, why, and what we don't do. In short: no ads, no tracking you across other sites, only anonymous visit counts, and we never sell your data.
Reclipped is run by private individuals in the Netherlands, who decide together how your data is used (under the GDPR, "joint controllers"). You can reach us at reclipped@proton.me if needed, and ask there for our names and details.
On a private server in the Netherlands, not with a hosting company. We keep backups for a short time, only to fix Reclipped if something breaks. If we ever use one, anything you deleted stays deleted.
If you make an account we store your email address, your password (only as a secure hash; we can't read it), the name you publish under, and, if you add them, a profile photo and a short bio. We use your email only to sign you in and, when you ask, to send you a link to reset your password.
We store what you save: clipped items (photos, names, prices, shop links), the photos you upload or cut out, and your boards, including a short history of earlier versions of each board. A board is visible to whoever you choose: only you, your friends, or everyone. When you publish a board, it's public along with your published name, and so are comments, likes and tags on it.
You can bundle clips into a clip set and choose who can see it: only you, your friends, or everyone. Other people can save a set they can see to their clips; when they put one of its clips on a board, their board says which set it came from and who made it. A clip marked "only me" can't be saved by others from your boards or go into a set you share.
A share link has its own audience, which you pick when you share: anyone who has the link, or only your friends. It keeps working whatever the board itself is set to, until you press New link, which switches the old link off.
When you save, share or publish a board, we make a preview picture of it: the board, its title and your published name. When you send a share link, chat apps and social sites fetch that picture, title and name to show a preview, and they may keep a copy. That includes links for friends only: anyone the link reaches sees the preview, though only your friends can open the board. Other addresses of boards nobody else may see show a plain Reclipped preview.
Photos are stored at addresses that are hard to guess but not secret: anyone who has a photo's address can open it, even after you make its board private. Please don't upload anything you need kept private.
We store who you follow, your friends and friend requests, the people you block (they aren't told, and you can see and undo it under Edit profile → Account), the boards you like and save into collections, the people you build boards with, and your notifications. Your profile shows your published boards, and who follows you and who you follow, to anyone who can see your profile; only you see your friends. You can make your profile private (friends only) in your settings.
When you save someone's board into a collection, they're told who saved it and, if they're allowed to see that collection, its name. Saves into a private collection only say "someone". You can turn this off in your settings, so owners are never told it was you.
Reports you make go only to our moderators. Moderators can hide boards and remove comments; comments containing blocked words wait for a moderator before they appear. Each moderation action is recorded (who did it, what, when and why) so it can be checked later; only moderators can see that record. When your board or comment is moderated, you're told why, but not which moderator did it.
Without an account, everything stays in your own browser on your own device; we never receive it.
The cut-out tools run entirely in your browser, from our own site. The first time you use one, your browser downloads the files it needs from Hugging Face (huggingface.co), like loading any file from the web; Hugging Face sees your IP address when it does, as any website would (see their privacy policy). Your photos are never uploaded to Hugging Face or any other service for cutting. To edit a shop's photo, your browser may load it through our server so it can be edited.
We count visits with Umami, which we run ourselves. It uses no cookies, doesn't keep your IP address and doesn't follow you to other sites. It records which pages are visited, where visitors came from, their browser, device and country, and a few actions such as saving or sharing a board. It can't tell who you are, and never sees what you write, your clips or boards, or your account.
Like most websites, our server keeps a log of requests (the address asked for, when, the result, and the IP address it came from) to keep Reclipped working and secure. By default these are deleted after 5 days.
We don't use tracking or advertising cookies (visit statistics use none), so there's no cookie banner. Your browser's local storage keeps you signed in and remembers preferences such as theme, currency, favourite stickers and folded panels; without an account it also holds your clips and boards. Moderators get one extra cookie that unlocks the admin dashboard.
You can delete clips, boards and comments at any time. Under Edit profile → Account you can download a copy of all your data (a zip with your account, clips, boards, comments and photos) and delete your account and everything in it; deleting also removes your likes, follows, friends and notifications, and takes you off boards you built with others. Anything you can't do there, such as correcting something, or if you can't sign in: email reclipped@proton.me and we'll reply within a month. You also have the right to see what we hold about you, to have it corrected, to limit how we use it, and to object to our use of it for safety and security; email us for any of these. If you think we've mishandled your data, you can complain to your data protection authority; in the Netherlands that's the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
